The MPTC is boosting the service capacity of its expressways network to provide more convenient travel to the public. In line with this, the MPTC announced several expansion and enhancement projects for NLEX, SCTEX, and CAVITEX.

The MPTC reported that one of the biggest projects of the company will be completed before the year ends and that a part of it will be available for use in time for the Christmas rush. Construction of new toll lanes in four toll plazas in Pampanga aimed at matching the rapid pace of the province’s traffic growth is also in full swing. Among these toll plazas are the San Fernando, Mexico, and Angeles.

Additionally, two more toll lanes at the San Fernando southbound exit and one additional toll lane at the southbound entry are in the works to accommodate the increasing traffic volume.

The Angeles toll plaza will be augmented with two entry lanes and one exit lane, while another toll lane will be built at the Mexico northbound exit. Additional lanes will likewise be constructed at the connecting ramps of NLEX and SCTEX in Mabalacat City.

Meanwhile, the CAVITEX Infrastructure Corporation is set to fully open the Marina left-turning flyover to pave way for smoother traffic flow and eliminate the existing traffic lights.

The MPTC targets to complete these enhancements by the end of 2018.
