PT Nusantara Infrastructure Tbk maintains revenue growth in the Second Quarter of 2020 amid the Covid-19 Pandemic

Jakarta, 4 August 2020 – In the midst of the economic slowdown caused by the outbreak of the Covid-19 Pandemic since the first quarter of 2020 in Indonesia, PT Nusantara Infrastructure Tbk managed to maintain positive financial performance in the second quarter of 2020. In April-June 2020 period (Second Quarter 2020) the Company recorded that the operating and sales revenue increased amounting to Rp 101.2 billion. While EBITDA (Earnings Before Interests, Taxes, Depreciation & Amortization) of the Company in the same period also increases by Rp 22.2 billion. The contribution of the toll road sector still dominates by contributing 64% of total revenue, followed by the energy sector by 23% and the water sector 13%. This positive performance was also reflected in the Company’s Earnings per Share (EPS) which remained the same as the first quarter of 2020. In addition, the main factor influencing the Company’s positive performance was that the majority of assets are in the operational stage. Therefore, the impact of the national economic slowdown does not directly affect the resilience of free cash flow, operational risk, or potential financial covenant-breach risk. PT Nusantara Infrastructure Tbk Corporate Affairs General Manager Deden Rochmawaty revealed, “2020 is a difficult and very challenging year, especially due to the Covid Pandemic which has impacted on the Company’s business sector. However, the Management are expecting that the second semester in 2020 the Company will achieve better operational and financial performance. For the toll sector, we are optimistic that the situation will return to normal by the end of the year after passing the lowest point in April. As for the energy and water sector, demand is expected to be relatively more stable until the end of the year and does not rule out the possibility of being in line with the recovery of the national economy at the end of the year”. The Company’s operating income in YTD 2Q-20 decreased compared to last year, which was -20.1% or equivalent to Rp -61.3 Billion. The decrease mainly was caused by the decrease in traffic in the Toll Road sector by -27.7% compared to last year (YTD 2Q-20 vs. YTD 2Q-19). Despite the decline in the toll road sector, the Company was still able to maintain good revenue growth due to contributions from the renewable energy and clean water sectors. Both sectors recorded relatively stable operational performance in which the energy sector grew by 11.5% (YTD 2Q-20 vs. YTD 2Q-19) and the clean water sector was relatively stable compared to the previous year’s period (YTD 2Q-20 vs. YTD 2Q-19). Although in the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Company has also remained focused on completing the two main projects in the toll sector and the energy sector, which both are planned to be completed by the end of 2020. The work system of both projects are in accordance to the occupational health and safety protocols, especially in this amid of the Covid-19 conditions. The Elevated Toll Road A.P. Pettarani Makassar through the Company’s business unit, PT Bosowa Marga Nusantara (BMN) which is the first elevated toll road outside of Java, will be the new icon of Makassar City has a length of 4.3km. And also,  the construction of a hydroelectric power plant (PLTA) in Lau Gunung Village, Tanah Pinem District, Dairi Regency, North Sumatra Province through the Company’s PT Inpola Meka Energi (IME) business unit, with a total installed capacity of 15 MW Looking at the domestic conditions that are currently focused on national economic recovery, the Company hopes that this can be right on target and applicable, so that economic conditions can return to normal and will encourage business growth both nationally and globally.
